I have to write what I see. I'm not going to be very eloquent. Because when I see the Occupy Wall Street movement, after I jump up in my living room and shout "Hell yeah!" I get choked up.
I choke up because I'm seeing, in real time, some things I thought were dead and gone. I see idealism. I see youth. I see youth demanding not only that idealism not be confused with naiveté, but that it be re-inserted at the top of this great country's set of priorities -- where the guys who founded this country had it in the first place. I see patriots -- the real kind. Like Mrs. Pelosi said: God bless 'em.
I've seen it before.
I'm a baby boomer. My generation changed the world for the better. We did it by taking to the streets. It's the only way it ever really gets done.
And I see that some of us raised our kids right. It's a damn fine feeling.
