Dear Mr. Nunellee:
I heard you say on WTVA several days ago that you believe the president is more willing to negotiate with Iran, Putin, etc., than he is the congressional Tea Party caucus. Those are the words of a traitor. If it were true that would be one thing. It isn't true. When you join your Tea Party friends in Congress in pretending that this president hasn't extended the hand of fellowship to every last one of you starting with the day after he was inaugurated in 2009 to now, and that every single time he did that you've all spat on it, and at zero hour when the clock was literally minutes away from government shutdown, you and the rest of them, almost in unison, come up with this disgusting, treasonous lie about how he will negotiate with this country's enemies before he'll negotiate with you, it makes you the same kind of traitor and liar they all are. I believe you're better than that.
You're certainly not alone when you make the charge of course. Estimates differ about how many of you there are, but the highest estimate is less than 100. Sometimes there's safety in numbers. But when the number is less than a third of one half of one branch of a three-branch government, you seriously need to rethink just how safe it is to parrot the disgusting lies the Tea Party caucus is telling about the president.
Although the mood of the country is shifting rapidly thanks to the disgraceful way you and your Tea Party friends have behaved, and you all may very well lose your jobs over this latest crisis you've manufactured, there's much more at stake here than your re-election. There's the country we all love at stake now. Stop doing this. Stop offending the conscience of decent people everywhere and once and for all, stop saying horrible things about one of the finest men we've ever been blessed to have in the White House. Get on board with the real patriots in this country who find Tea Party tactics morally repugnant, far more of whom live in your district than you and your Tea Party friends dream.
Once and for all Mr. Nunnelee, if you value your job, you will begin to listen not only to ALL of your constituents instead of the brain-dead ones, but also to your conscience instead of to those criminals in the congressional Tea Party caucus who have clearly led you far, far astray.
And for the love of God, put a stop to this unconscionable shutdown, rush to the side of the real patriots in this country regardless of party affiliation, and raise that debt limit immediately so we can return to the business of strengthening this great country we all love.
I know very well I represent a tiny minority of the phone calls, emails & faxes that you receive from your constituents. You should bear in mind that many people don't call or write their congressmen because they're pretty sure they won't be heard. I would suggest to you that mere pro/con tallying of what phone calls, emails & faxes you do receive is the road to false bravado. Task your staff instead, with urging you to look a little deeper.
